Mar is a Set Designer based in Dublin.

Originally from Barcelona, she holds an MFA in Stage Design from The Lir Academy, where she specialized in Set Design and minored in Dramaturgy, and a BA in Design from the University of Art and Design of Barcelona. Her work draws on her background in visual arts and design research to create strong performative spaces and design-led theatre.

In Barcelona, she worked as a set designer assistant to set designer Anna Alcubierre on projects including a National Theatre of Catalonia production, Uppgivenhet, and an exhibition of sculptor Jaume Plensa’s work at Gaudí’s iconic building “La Pedrera”. For her BA thesis, she created and directed a devised piece that premiered in Barcelona in July 2023.

Since moving to Dublin, Mar’s been a design assistant to Owen Boss in ANU’s Dublin Theatre Festival production StarJazzer, directed by Louise Lowe, and to Ciara Murnane for The Lir Academy’s production of Arcadia by Tom Stoppard, directed by Hillary Wood. As well as being the set designer for The Lir Academy’s production of The Almighty Sometimes by Kendall Feaver, which premiered as part of GradFest 2024.
